I grew up in a big family, the 2nd child and 1st girl out of 5 brothers and 2 sisters! We lived in a little town called Cassadaga, NY (its in-between Erie, PA and Buffalo, NY) and lived in the same house our whole lives. I had two loving and self sacrificing parents who gave themselves to raising us. My dad worked all my life for Construction companies managing people’s projects and my mom stayed at home to raise us (which was definitely a handful). My parents both had met the Lord during the Jesus movement so I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home.
I was in public school for 1 yr, then Christian school for 3 yrs and then home schooled till I graduated in '97. I had a very happy and fun childhood. I started to take piano lessons and singing at age 8... Which I also didn't particularly like then.
At the age of 8, I started going to Summer camp for one week every yr -it became the highlight of my life! I accepted Jesus into my heart there, received the gift of tounges at age 10 and was encouraged to prophecy at 11! When I was 14 I attended Youth Week at Pinecrest (a bible school in the Adirondack Mountains). It changed my life. I met the Lord in such a real, tangible way.
That next yr 1995, my sister (the middle one) passed away from a brain tumor. My life forever changed. My older brother was going through a difficult time and his 2 kids were living with us. We had 5 kids under 5 in my house. I always say it felt like I skipped my teenage yrs and became an adult that yr. The 1st song I ever wrote was to my sister and I sang it at her funeral.
I became very focused on God and His plan for my life! I started a newsletter called "Shine Out The Light" to encourage teens in their walk with God. I also began to lead worship. I was so hungry for more of God. Someone gave me Joann McFatter tape called "Magnificent Obsession" and I used to sit in my room and just listen to it for hours. I was so overcome by the presence of God when I would listen to it.
At age 17 I went to Bible school at Pinecrest and attended there for 3 yrs. I traveled to Jamaica two different times for 1 month each time to do missions- I loved it and God increased his heart in me for people of all nations! I grew a lot during this time in God and in life. I began to write more music and lead more worship. God began meeting me in such deep ways. Many people at the school stirred this gift up inside me.
Someone gave me the Don Potter CD "Facing the Wall" and I felt like God told me to go and play the piano at the school that was in the underground chapel (it so happened to face the wall too). There was only one window on that side of the room that was right above where I would sit and play, and many times light would pierce through that window on me. Minuets turned to hours in a very short time and I found myself longing more and more for God. I would literally run to the little chapel so that I could play and spend time with the Lord. I wrote many songs and instrumentals during that time but more than that, I developed a deep relationship with the Lord that carries me to this day. I still sit and play this way.
After finishing school, I went to serve with a worship ministry in Clarence, NY called Eagles Wings under the direction of Robert Stearns . Robert is a worship leader I had grown to love over my teenage years; he started "The River Series" (a series of worship albums) that I fell in love with as a teenager. I got more than I bargained for at Eagles' Wings as it is much more a worship ministry.
I had such a wonderful time serving there. I began writing even more songs and growing in spontaneous and prophetic songs. I managed the Eagles' Wings bookstore and worked long hard hours. I ministered in many churches and conferences and also oversaw the girl’s discipleship house at the ministry. During my 4 yrs there, I traveled to Honduras, Israel and Germany. Before I even went to Eagles' Wings, the Lord told me that while I was there I would meet my husband and that is exactly what happened! I met Brent and we were married two yrs later (March, 20th 2004).
After much prayer, Brent & I took our 1st six months of marriage to step aside from our responsibilities with the ministry to seek the Lord. During this time, we felt the Lord tell us our season had ended at Eagles' Wings and to move to PA. So we did! God has been impressing on Brent's heart that he was to bridge ministry and business. A door opened for him in a company called "Alcoa" with Manager who is a spirit filled Christian man. Brent also began finishing his college courses in Leadership and Managment. We plugged in to the The Lighthouse Church serving as Youth Leaders; I also lead worship. At this time we finished my life long dream and released my 1st CD "Deep Calls". God also put together our worship team which we named "Hallel" it means to sing spontaneously... Most importantly we had our 1st son, Ethan Isaac on July, 12th 2006.
Then God has brought us to Cleveland, OH. Brent followed his leader from Alcoa out here. Each step of the process has been amazing and we know God has great things in store here! We have connected with Metro Church where I lead worship and we serve in various capacities. We had our 2nd son, Jace Ryan on August, 14th 2008 and are expecting baby girl Ava Joy in December 2009.
Brent & I have many dreams God has laid on our hearts. We have a strong desire to reach this young generation. We also have a passionate heart for other countries. We strongly believe we will continually be traveling overseas. We want to see people come to KNOW Jesus intimatly! Once you feel and taste of his presence - you will never be the same! Our desire is to be a life of prayer and worship and stir that up in the people God puts in our path.
Who am I?
I love God more than anything! He is my passion I love music and to worship- playing the piano and singing. I love to write music! Its all because I love Jesus and want to be an offering of worship poured out before Him. I am a friend of God, his bride- his hands and feet in the earth! I am a wife and mother. I am a worshipper 1st and then a worship leader!
